Newly Appointed candidates on regular permanent post on a govt job receive salary as per pay scale mentioned in those post’s advertisement with starting basic pay of that level. Salary includes basic pay with several allowances given by the government. These allowances are calculated on basic pay of a post. The rates of these allowances (DA, HRA, CCA, Special pay etc.) gets increased from time to time. So total salary may get up to 2-3 times the basic pay.

There are 17 levels in Uttarakhand Pay Matrix. All levels are as given in 7th Pay G.O. Uttarakhand Government Employee Pay Rules 2016 given at link below. These are not applicable to contract staff / sanvida.
