Kaithal district is located in the North-West of the Haryana. Kaithal used to be a part of Karnal district and later, Kurukshetra district until 1 November 1989. Historically It was known as Kapisthal. The district is said to have been founded by Mahabharat’s Yudhishthira (Pandav).
Kaithal shares its boundries with the Patiala district of state Punjab and Jind, Kurukshetra and Karnal districts of Haryana.
