Those who got appointment after qualifying all stages of recruitment, are put on probation period of three years. During this period, They are given fixed lump sum amount @50% of Pay for the post i.e. Rs. 9800 per month. There are no allowances that are paid during probation.
Assam Police Constable Pay Scale after Probation
After successful completion of probationary period, they will be given salary as per Pay Scale of Rs. 14000-60500/- with Grade Pay Rs. 5600/- with applicable Allowances as per rules.
Basic Pay:
After probation period, The starting basic pay in this Pay Scale of Rs. 14000-60500/- Grade Pay 5600 of Assam 7th pay matrix is Rs. 19600 per month. Last basic pay of this post is Rs. 66100 per month.
Total salary is calculated by adding all allowances (DA, HRA etc.) as applicable. Candidate will be given Net salary after deduction of taxes and pension amount from total salary.
Assam Police Constable Salary Structure for new appointments after probation:
- Starting basic pay after probation: Rs. 19600 per month
- Starting Total Salary of Constable in Assam Police in starting (after probation period): Around Rs. 32100-35100 per month (depending on posting and allowances).
- Deductions: around Rs. 2800.
- Assam Constable Net in Hand Salary 2024: Rs. 29300-32300.
Candidate can be posted in any District or Unit anywhere in the State of Assam.
Allowances given:
- Dearness allowance (42% of basic pay)
- House Rent Allowance (HRA) : 890-1340 depending on city of posting
- Kit Allowance: Rs.1800 initially and Rs.800 after every year
- Other allowances as per rules of Assam govt.
Increment:

To apply for these posts, Candidate must have registration in local Employment Exchange in Assam. They must have ability to speak Assamese or any other State language fluently. Age should be between 18-25 years for unreserved candidates. Upper age relaxation of 5 years is applicable for SC, ST (P) and ST (H) and 3 years for OBC/MOBC.
